Tonight, I invited four of my friends to Red Robin for a very belated birthday dinner. They gave me cool presents - Bath and Body Works Charmed Life bath set, B&BW mini hand sanitizers (those always come in handy), Midnight in Paris DVD, cute fashion jewelry (Paris themed with rose earrings and an Eiffel Tower necklace), Adele’s “19” and “21” albums, Jane Eyre DVD, chocolate, and a Chapters Gift Card. I got free ice cream from Red Robin and in a lapse of clear thought, told the waitress that I was turning 30.

23
How amazing still it seems, I am 23.
I have been anticipating this birthday since I first heard '23' by Jimmy Eat world over five years ago. This song motivates me to do whatever I am determined to accomplish and to always aim high. I plan to continue living by this mindset during my 23rd year. I'm here. I'm ready.
Thank you to my mom for the beautiful gift and other goodies, to the YWiB girls for the amazing cake, and to everyone for sharing their kind and thought birthday wishes. You are all rockstars!

Twenty Two.
January 7th: the one day of the year when I can be completely self-absorbed and spoiled and it's perfectly acceptable (even encouraged!)
For my 22nd birthday, I spent the day with my mother. For lunch, we went to Denny's, where my mom ordered turkey, green beans and mashed potatoes, and I got the massive Lumberjack Slam (with scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, ham, toast AND pancakes) for free as part of their birthday promotion. Very satisfying, yet very filling. For dessert, we got two cinnamon rolls from CinnaRoll. I was planning on using my 2 for 1 DQ Blizzard, but I saved it for the next day. I love their Cookie Dough treats.
I saved my mom the trouble of searching for the perfect present by picking out my own gifts. I ended up finding a cute blue cat (to go with the pink cat she gave me last year), "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" on DVD, Elle Canada and Teen Vogue with Dianna Agron, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith on the covers, a beige deer shirt from H&M and two tops from American Eagle. Not pictured in the collage above are the grey Italian boots that I got from J Walk Shoes. Trust me, they're gorgeous.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to extend their warmest birthday wishes to me through phone, text, email, Twitter, Facebook, LiveJournal, Tumblr, etc. You all made my day extra special! :)
